IQ Program

GSI Services is proud to offer the Food and Beverage Association of San Diego a comprehensive program to monitor and evaluate bar and restaurant employees who are responsible for the verification of their customer's age and identification.

The IQ Program (Identification Quality Control) will be available to all On Sale liquor licenses in San Diego County. Members of the Food and Beverage Association will receive a member discount on fees. The program subscription is quarterly. The program will provide those licensees subscribing with the following services:

  • Two or more random IQ tests per month
  • The IQ tests can be spread over multiple locations
  • A next day email or verbal report to the licensee on test results
  • A monthly summary of IQ activity

GSI Services will send an agent into the location to be tested. The agent will be between the ages of 21 to 25. The agent will approach the employeed to be tested. If the employee asks for identification from the agent and properly verifies age and valid ID, the agent will ask the employee's name and then present the employee with a card stating that they have passed their "IQ Test" and to contact their manager.

If the employee does not ask for the agents identification and properly verify age, the agent will ask the employee's name and present them with a card stating that they have flunked their "IQ Test" and to contact their manager. This card will also state that the employee must attend Responsible Alcohol Beverage Service (RABS) class at the Food and Beverage Services office. The card will state that the employee has 30 days to complete the training.
